Cleaning Your Wax Jacket

Regular cleaning will enhance the appearance removing dirt and grime which ultimately shortens the longevity of the jacket; • REMOVE mud and grit as soon as possible as this is abrasive
• SPONGE wipe with only cold water carefully brush off ground dirt before rinsing
• DRY naturally and completely for a minimum of 24 hours
• REWAX after cleaning
• DO NOT dry clean, machine wash or tumble dry
• DO NOT use soap, solvents, detergents or bleach
• DO NOT iron steam or starch
• DO NOT force dry or expose to direct flame
• DO NOT expose to direct sunlight for long periods
This will dry out the waxed protection

Items stored not completely dried or stored in a humid area may very well develop mildew resulting in mould spores forming. Re Waxing you’re Jacket

Wax Jackets will need regular re waxing and usually if worn often as we do with our ever changing inclement weather , Uneven ,shiny or dry areas ,or where moisture no longer beads ,is good indicator it’s time to reproof your jacket as the waxed protection needs to be replaced with a re waxing On top of prolonging the life and longevity of your jacket re proofing will also revive the colour the jacket and help prevent holes from forming .Garment can be brought back to as close to factory finish as possible with a re waxing of your jacket • Be sure that the garment is CLEAN & DRY
• Lay it on a flat surface and apply the wax starting with the seams
• Try using a hair dryer to WARM the wax on a cloth and on the garment as you apply it
• SPREAD WAX EVENLY ,working it into the fabric in a circular motion
• DO NOT coat surface too thickly
• Seams and worn areas will require more wax
• WIPE OFF EXCESS WAX
• Hang garment to dry overnight
• Spread out any excess wax not absorbed
• Apply more wax to areas that still appear shiny or dry
